Guest-artist Kyle Strahm steps in as the skull-faced mystery woman Fantomah comes to Cassie and Vlad for help. But, what could a super powerful goddess, known for her horrible (yet creative) methods of tormenting evil doers, need with a teenage girl and a mutant with a machete?

Here's what I have to say:

I wanted to capture the mood I love from vintage lithos of the Assumption or Immaculate Conception of Mary for this piece, since Fantomah is something of a Goddess...as if Cassie was in rapture. I decided to incorporate some of Mucha's designs from some of his old magazine or menu designs. The top two sections of the cover originally held a lion and an elephant (since Fantomah is the mystery woman of the jungle) but they totally threw off the flow of the piece, so I scrapped them.

Cassie is my favorite character to draw. Such a complicated and dynamic character and still funny and fun to read. READ THIS BOOK!
